The Series of Juliane Golbs

Bodies of work as atmospheres: from delicate, drawn layers to works in 24-carat gold leaf.

Bodies of Work

A collection is more than the sum of its parts. It is a dialogue between the viewer and infinity.

Juliane Golbs does not divide her œuvre into mere categories but into atmospheres. Each series has its own page with its story, all its works and answers to frequent questions.

Life in Full

Heaven can’t wait

On the tenderness of life and the decision to stay turned towards existence.

Heaven can’t wait continues the series Fifth Season and condenses it at the same time. The works are more complex and more layered, closer to drawing.

Leaps, lines, pencils and traces come more strongly to the fore – including those my daughter sets down herself. Each work grows out of the now, out of time lived, out of experience that cannot be measured.

The paintings hold countless shared moments. They bear witness to a present happiness that does not aim at redemption. Here, life shows itself as full and beautiful.

Heaven can wait.

Warmth

Fifth Season

On time lived and the light of the present.

The series Fifth Season grew out of an existential experience: fear for my daughter’s life, and the unexpected lengthening of our time together.

These works understand transience not as loss but as the condition of closeness. They treat life as something tender and, at the same time, tenacious. Light appears as quiet knowledge rather than pathos. Joy unfolds as an attitude of attentiveness.

Lightness becomes an ethical decision here: to remain turned towards life. Fifth Season is an invitation to look at existence with warmth, clarity and gratitude.

Heritage

The Signature Collection

The monogram as a coat of arms for modern times.

In a world of anonymity, identity is the true luxury. The Signature Collection celebrates the JG monogram not as a logo but as an architectural foundation.

Each work is a palimpsest – built up layer upon layer. Iconographic elements such as the crown (sovereignty), the hare (quickness of mind) and the anchor (Hanseatic constancy) merge into a coat of arms for the 21st century.

Light

Golden Things

A study in reflection.

Gold is the only material that does not merely receive light but multiplies it. In this series Juliane Golbs captures the fleeting beauty of the golden hour and makes it lasting.

Using 24-carat gold leaf and special gold creams, she creates works that change with the daylight – living organisms on your wall that radiate warmth and composed calm.

Eternity

Everlasting Blossoms

Spring, preserved.

Nature knows no stillness, only the cycle of becoming and passing. This series is an aesthetic resistance against transience: floral abstractions that never wilt.

To own a work from this series is also to take on responsibility: part of the proceeds supports the NCL Foundation in its fight against childhood dementia.
