About the work
In “01 | 2026” painting leaves its customary place. Juliane Golbs works here in acrylic and fabric on a wooden panel set over a moulded frame, and lets the blossoms grow not within the moulding but across it. What traditionally marks the edge of a picture becomes the bearer of the composition. Against a warm, metallic ground of bronze and champagne, white, lavender and apricot flowers gather into a vertical cascade that runs from the top edge to the foot of the format. Fine lines of sage green wind through the surface like tendrils, and single bands of colour run downwards. The slender upright format of 48 × 88 cm recalls the proportions of a wall panel and comes into its own beside doorways, in alcoves or along narrow hallways. Within the series Fifth Season #heaven can wait, this original painting stands for the idea of time given as a gift: the floral is not tamed here but in motion, as if the moment had already stepped beyond the frame.
