About the work
"03 | 2025" moves along the edge of abstraction: a pale ground of lavender and silver grey carries a multitude of blossoms, tendrils and lines that overlap one another. Violet orchid forms, coral-red clusters and creamy white dabs condense towards the centre, while broad strokes of ochre and rust frame the upper edge. A luminous green drips in long trails across the surface, setting a deliberately restless accent. Juliane Golbs works in mixed media on canvas. Drawn lines loop through the layers of paint and recall notes, quick sketches, traces that are not meant to be corrected. It is precisely this openness that connects the picture to the idea of the series Fifth Season #heaven can wait, in which the present appears as something polyphonic. In the portrait format of 150 × 200 cm, the work feels like a view into a garden that is constantly changing. It harmonises with bright rooms in which its lavender and rosé tones can glow.

Some pictures begin with an idea. These two series began with life itself – with fear, with time given back and with the decision to celebrate it.
