About the work
"38 | 2021" is a gestural painting in which layers of colour and movement overlap. The ground of warm gold lacquer and peach is crossed by vertical drips in bronze and white that give the picture a calm, almost curtain-like rhythm. In front of it, lively events unfold: clouds in midnight blue and ice blue, a sweep of ochre, dark lines that loop across the surface like handwriting, and dabs of pink and white. The kinship with Art Informel and gestural abstraction is palpable, yet with Juliane Golbs the palette remains bright and luminous. Painted in acrylic and acrylic lacquers on canvas, matt passages alternate with glossy lacquered areas that respond differently to light. Within the Signature Collection, the work represents the abstract, purely painterly side of the artist: a handwriting in the literal sense. In the portrait format of 100 × 140 cm, the picture brings movement into calm, clearly furnished rooms.

On request it can come to your room on trial for a small fee; should you decide on the painting, the fee is credited against the purchase price.
