About the work
A garden in which nothing is ordered: in “06 | 2025” leaves, stalks and blossoms overlap into a dense web through which a warm ground of bronze lacquer shimmers. Juliane Golbs works with sage and fir green, with cream and white, sets strong accents in magenta and dusky pink and lets numerous lines run downwards as rivulets. Small signs are laid over the vegetation, crowns and the monogram in black, like notes on a herbarium sheet. The combination of bronze lacquer and acrylic on canvas gives the surface a rich, metallic warmth that changes with daylight. Within the series Fifth Season #heaven can wait the work can be read as a reflection on time: the garden shows lush bloom and the beginning of decay in one picture, and that is precisely where its liveliness lies. The 100 × 140 cm format suits rooms with warm wood and soft light, in which the bronze can unfold its depth.
